LOGOS TRADING POST - CHRISTMAS OLIVE WOOD

The Greatest and Most Perfect Gift of All

James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” God gives good and perfect gifts, with no gift being greater than His own Son coming to live among us. Though our Holy Land olive wood gifts couldn’t possibly compare, we are happy to offer them as a blessing to you or other believers. It is ultimately our hope, especially in this collection of olive wood hand carved Christmas ornaments and nativity sets, that anyone who lays eyes on our products would have their faith strengthened and be reminded of the greatest and most perfect gift of all, Jesus Christ our savior!

Those Qualified to Celebrate Him

We are all able to celebrate Jesus through the work of our hands, the words of our mouth, and the prayers of our hearts. Even still, what a meaningful form of celebration must come from believers who live in the very site of His birth, Bethlehem. For this reason, we are more than happy to say that these olive wood products are not only crafted using genuine Holy Land olive wood, but they are also carved by hand by skilled artisans from Bethlehem in the Holy Land.

Look intently at the products that interest you. In our opinion, you can see the passion of craftsmanship that went into each and every Holy Land olive wood nativity set and olive wood ornament. The story of Christmas is one close to their hearts, living in the place where it happened, after all. We feel there is nobody we would rather have crafting these olive wood Christmas items for our business, and we wish to share their work with you!

Not only do these represent some of the finest work in hand carved olive wood, but they go toward a wonderful cause. These olive wood ornaments and nativities give us the opportunity to support the growth of Christian business in the Holy Land and in all of the Near East by extension. By creating an environment where people of faith can thrive, they can be both blessed in what they do and encouraged to do more for the Kingdom of God. You may not find yourself doing mission work in the Holy Land or the Middle East, but you can make a difference there by supporting the people of faith already living within those regions. After all, doesn’t Paul say in Romans 10:13-15, “‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved’ How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

By the purchase of these ornaments you are enabling others to preach the gospel and therefore giving those who have not heard it the chance to do so. This is also true in more ways than one. Not only does the production of these olive wood nativity sets and ornaments support local Christian businesses in the area, but even beyond that a portion of every sale goes toward mission and outreach work being done throughout the Middle East. This mission is one of Logos Trading Post’s passions as a company, so it is our pleasure to make it such an integral part of our business.

Why Decorate with Ornaments and Nativities?

Still, in addition to all of the benefits achieved across the Atlantic Ocean, it is also our hope that these Holy Land olive wood ornaments and nativities can be of benefit to you and the people in your life. Of course, our heart behind all of our Holy Land olive wood products is such.

It is important that we as believers strive to create a faith filled environment that brings strength and peace to all who enter it. It is for that reason that we decorate our homes all year round, but the reason remains the same when we decorate our homes during the Christmas season. However, the core of why we decorate with Christian depictions - or of why we even make artistic depictions at all - can be found in Psalm 77:11-14, in which the Psalmist says, “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.” Indeed, we can look to scripture and stories of God in the past - both the far off past and our own past - and be reminded time and time again of who He is and all that makes Him worthy of all glory and praise. He is pleased when we dwell on Him and think of Him. After all, doesn’t the scripture also say in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Though they are from the Holy Land, there is nothing inherently holy about these Holy Land olive wood ornaments and nativities. Their worth is in the stories that they depict, which truly are holy. Our hope, then, is that you would look at these wooden nativity sets and ornaments and remember the greatest story, foretold by the prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
