Indeed, for He goes on in John 15 to declare the following, recorded in John 15:13-15, “Great love has no on than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” Not only has Jesus called us friends of His, but He demonstrated the greatest of loves to us, laying down His life for us on that cross.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll that said, Influencers Ministries has taken the time to understand that this intimacy of friendship towards Jesus is no small thing to develop. It takes time to get to a point where we have not only known His name, but known Him and come to “delight” in Him as Psalm 37:4 says. The goal is that we reach the point Job did at the end of his story, where he is seen to say to God in Job 42:5, “I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you,” even if it takes effort to get there. Still, we know that this pursuit of intimacy with our Lord is not in vain; he has promised it. In Jeremiah 29:11-13, he tells the children of Israel and by extension any who might be called the people of God, “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eYou will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cu\u003eRelationships With One Another: Practice for the Most Important Relationship of All\u003c\/u\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFear not, though, Influencers Ministries has developed a methodology to assist believers in cultivating this intimacy with Jesus. 1 John 4:7\u0026amp;11-12 tells us, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God...Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God, \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eif we love one another, God abides in us\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e and his love is perfected in us.” God cannot be seen, but by faith we trust Him. Still, it is through the community of other believers that we may experience the love of God in a new way, and it is through engaging in meaningful friendship with other believers that we may develop a strong friendship with Jesus.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs such, Influencers Ministries is built around this idea of connective community directing the individual toward greater intimacy with Jesus. That is why their ministry is designed around Journey Groups, their spin on the small-group discipleship movement. It is by design that each individual be assigned to a group with like-minded disciples of Christ - disciples who wish to take their relationship with Him to a deeper level. After all, Jesus even assures us with His own words in Matthew 18:19-20, “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
