LOGOS TRADING POST - CHILDREN’S PASS ALONG CARD ASSORTMENTS

Teaching Children the Importance of Sharing Their Faith

Isaiah 54:13 says, “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.” Let the truth of God’s Word permeate the lives of your children, and you will be pleasantly surprised just how much more peaceful their lives will be for it. It is our pleasure, then, to offer these children’s scripture cards as a blessing to parents, teachers, and children alike. It is our hope that by both the words of scripture printed on these Bible verse cards for kids and the act of giving them will strengthen and enrich the faith of both the giver and the receiver. In fact, we are especially hopeful that with each of our scripture cards we sell, we are helping children grow more comfortable with sharing their faith, a very important matter for Christians - and one that can be very intimidating without practice.

Yes, our scripture cards are specifically called Pass Along scripture cards because that is exactly what they are designed for! They come in large packs and in a variety of designs in order to encourage sharing them as a small blessing to others. Especially in the case of these Bible verse cards for kids specifically, they can be a great example or a great first step to help get a kid comfortable with sharing his or her own faith.

What’s So Important About Sharing Our Faith?

If you’re of an evangelical Christian background, chances are you have no question about whether or not sharing the gospel and our faith is important. After all, Jesus gives His Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20, in which He says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  By making the Great Commission His final command while still walking the earth, Jesus made its importance clear to His disciples - both the disciples there on that day and all of His disciples that were to come, which includes us! Though, even before the Great Commission was given, Jesus made clear for His followers that we are made to stand out and make a difference in the world around us. After all, even all the way back in His first public teaching, the Sermon on the Mount, He makes this clear. As Matthew 5:13-16 records, He says, “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Our faith in its very essence is not meant to be kept to ourselves; it is to shine forth and be seen by all, making a difference all around us.

How Can We Be More Comfortable Sharing Our Faith?

Still, sharing our faith, sharing the gospel, and making disciples of all nations, are certainly things easier said than done. Many believers would agree that such things are very important, but acting out in such ways on their own can prove intimidating. The simple truth is that practice makes perfect - perfect love, that is! John writes in 1 John 4:16-19, “We have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us.” God’s love is so strong that it can fulfill us all on its own. Because we have His love as our motivation, His love both for us and for all the people of the world, we can realize the significance of what we do when we are outgoing with and open about our faith. We don’t evangelize, speak before crowds, care for the weak, and give scripture cards as blessings just because we’re told to by God - though that is an excellent reason - we do it because we understand God’s love for the people on the other side of our kindness. At the end of the day, it is a disservice to others to keep our faith from them, and it is an act of genuine love to share it.

Even still, outside of our motivation from God’s love, there is confidence, which we also find in Him and in the power within His gospel. About that matter, Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, “Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”

As we draw to a close, then, remember that you can have confidence sharing your faith. It doesn’t depend on how great or worthy we are in ourselves; the message and the God behind it has power! So whether you’re doing something as public as preaching in front of the masses or something as simple as giving your child one of our pass along scripture cards, we encourage you to do so in confidence and love!
