LOGOS TRADING POST - SALVATION BOOKMARKS

The Blessed Savior

In Isaiah 63:1, the prophet says, “Who is this who comes from Edom, in crimsoned garments from Bozrah, he who is splendid in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength?”, and then God speaks, saying “It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.”

And in 2 Samuel 22:47, David says, “The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation.”

And in 1 John 4:14, John says, “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.”

The list goes on. The Bible has no shortage of scriptures on the subject of salvation, and in each case, salvation is always associated with God. Indeed, Acts 4:12 makes this clear enough through the words of Peter before the Sanhedrin, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” There is no one mightier to save than Jesus, and there is no one else who can give us true salvation. It is as He has said in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

What Is Salvation?

In contemporary Christianity, we are often trained either intentionally or unintentionally to equate salvation with freedom from Hell and access to Heaven after we die on Earth. It makes sense, after all, we must be saved fromsomething, and Hell is most certainly something we want to be away from. That said, there is good news, and it is good news is even greater than a ticket to Heaven.

Indeed, the salvation we experience by being born again as Christians does indeed align us with Heaven, but it is not limited to that. Consider the words of Jesus in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Further, consider what Paul says in Romans 10:11 & 14, “Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus...for sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.” Finally, let’s look at the words of Jesus once again, this time in Matthew 11:28-30; he says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

With those passages in mind, we can see that salvation is a whole lot more than just a ticket to Heaven, although it is that as well. Salvation is a vast, fascinating subject of Christian theology; it is ultimately a good candidate for one of our Christian bookmarks categories because there are a variety of verses on the subject. In general, we might be able to see three aspects of salvation from the above verses. John 10 tells us that salvation is an opportunity to live a fuller life, Romans 10 tells us that salvation is an opportunity to be free from sin - not just Hell - and Matthew 11 tells us that salvation is an opportunity to lay our burdens on Jesus and find rest in knowing Him.

Confidence as a Child of God

Depending on your past, salvation may be a joyous subject to discuss or it may be a difficult one. For many of us, it feels uncertain whether we really are saved or not. If we may offer some encouragement for your faith journey, at Logos Trading Post (literally “Word of God” Trading Post), we have the utmost confidence in the words of scriptures. We believe Paul’s words in Romans 10:9-11 can be taken literally when he says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the scripture says, ‘Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.’” If you have done that before, or even if you chose to do that for the first time right in this moment, then you are saved, no doubt! You may not always feel different, and life may still throw difficulties your way, but place your confidence in God. Through salvation we can be called “children of God,” as John puts it in 1 John 3:1. You can approach Him with any need, and You can have confidence that He will give You the best life possible, as a truly good Father does for His child.

Christian Bookmarks to Remind Us

The confidence in Him that we are saved is really what this particular collection of Christian bookmarks is all about. Each Bible verse bookmark listed here has a passage of scripture meant to remind you each time you see it that God is the source of our salvation, and He has made salvation available through His son, Jesus. We are proud of the quality of these bookmarks, but our hope is that they would be more than mere Bible bookmarks. It is our hope that each time you see them or each time you give one as a gift, someone’s faith can be enriched by the reminder that God is not only mighty but excited to save. Indeed, according to 1 Timothy 2:4, God is our Savior, and it is He “desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Keep in mind, these each of these Bible verse bookmark designs are actually sold as bulk bookmarks! Despite the low price, 25 come in a single pack. That means they are perfect for not only tools to enrich your faith, but they create an opportunity for you to provide others with Christian bookmarks that remind them of their blessed Savior.

Still, maybe you’re interested in Christian bookmarks on a different subject; in that case, we encourage you to browse our bookmarks to your heart’s content. We’re sure you’ll find at least one Bible verse bookmark that’s perfect for you!
