Galatians 4:31-5:1 says, “So, brothers, we are not children of the slave but of the free woman. For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” As Christians, believers, and faithful disciples of God, we know that we used to be enslaved by our own brokenness and sin, but by the sacrifice of Jesus on His cross, we have been set free from that bondage. We must take care, however, that we do not squander this freedom. Don’t fear, God is a greater Master and Father than any slaver, but He did not only set us free from something; He set us free for the mission of His Kingdom.

It’s hard to imagine you haven’t heard Christ’s Great Commission at least once, which Matthew 28:18-20 records as, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
