Challenge Coins as Gifts to Those We Cherish

The challenge coins available here at Logos Trading Post can serve as excellent little reminders of the faith we hold dear, small enough to fit in our pockets or beside the items on our desks. However, they are also outstanding gifts that can be used to encourage those in our lives that we cherish deeply. Many of the coins in this section of public servant challenge coins can be used greatly for such a purpose. Whether you’re on the lookout for military challenge coins, firefighter challenge coins, police challenge coins, or coins related to any other public service occupation, you have found what you’ve been searching for! Even beyond that, this category contains gifts that can be appreciated by a wide variety of people, so whether it’s for a teacher, a nurse, a patriot, a pastor, or simply someone full of faith for the Kingdom of God, a challenge coin can be a great little symbol of your appreciation.

Public Servants and the Kingdom of God

Here at Logos Trading Post, we decided to offer a variety of challenge coins specifically for public servants because they serve an indispensable role in the Kingdom of God. It is in the name, after all: public servant. By dedicating themselves to the service of others, they demonstrate themselves humble and selfless, and they align themselves with the greatest servant of all. In Mark 10:43-45, the Lord Jesus says, “Whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Firefighters, teachers, nurses, and any others in our world who dedicate themselves to the service of others so purely exemplify servanthood, and if they are believers, they have surely taken to heart Ephesians 5:1-2, which says, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” These servants sacrifice their time and energy, pressing on anyway, making themselves servants of all just as Christ on Earth. This is the heart behind why we have challenge coins for sale specifically for such individuals; police challenge coins, military challenge coins, teacher challenge coins, firefighter challenge coins- you name it, we have it!

Firefighters in the Kingdom of God

Indeed, we have firefighter challenge coins for sale because these men and women so greatly exemplify sacrifice, putting themselves totally at risk on the behalf of others. As we meditate on this virtue, it brings to mind the incarnation of Christ, who chose to intervene in this world despite being himself beyond it. John 6:38 echoes this, with Jesus saying of Himself, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” Therefore, just as Christ stepped into our human condition, firefighters sacrificially intervene, willfully choosing to put themselves in harm’s way and through difficult situations for the sake of others. Indeed, we love to let these brave men and women know they are appreciated, so if you know a firefighter personally, please consider encouraging them by getting them one of our firefighter challenge coins.

Police Officers in the Kingdom of God

Additionally, we have police challenge coins for sale because these men and women, paired with a faith in God and love for people, greatly exemplify God’s protection. It can at times be a difficult truth to swallow, especially for first-century Christians living under Roman rule, but Romans 13:1-4 speaks of authority in a good light, saying, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.” This is the essence of the kind of policing that God approves, policing defined by true justice, rewarding right and wrong. Even if the human condition means it doesn’t always work out this way, there is goodness to be found. Indeed, police officers are experiencing a lot of pressure and even disdain from the public. Whatever your stance is on the matter, if you personally know a faithful Christian police officer, give them as much encouragement as you can in these difficult times; they will surely be grateful for your kindness. Further, consider giving him or her one of our police challenge coins.

Military in the Kingdom of God

Finally, we also have military challenge coins, for those who present themselves as a sacrifice for their homelands. Though God’s people as a military is more extensively discussed in the Old Testament, there is one major principle of Christ’s teaching that should greatly encourage those who serve as the military. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” This is the heart of military service. The men and women who serve in this way choose to put their very lives at stake, just for the safety of their loved ones. Many return from service, but many do not, and we honor them for their selfless sacrifice. As always, if you would like a gift to show honor or appreciation to a person who serves or has served, consider getting them one of our military challenge coins.

There is no Shortage of Those Who Serve

Yes, though we have only extensively discussed three kinds of public servants, the others are neither short in number nor worthy of any less respect. Teaching, nursing, pastoring - anything you can think of - are virtuous acts worthy of respect with no shortage of faithful people living them out. Teachers are like Christ in His moments of teaching; nurses are like Him in His healings; pastors are like Him in his guidance and protection. The list could go on! The point is, these people giving sacrificially of themselves need our encouragement, so we would be very happy if you chose to encourage them through the gift of one of the challenge coins we have for sale. Even if you choose not to buy them something, please take a moment to encourage those in your life who serve; they will surely appreciate it!
